OIT Student Job OpportunitiesOIT employs nearly 200 student workers at any given time. OIT student work is a great way to gain work experience and build your resume for after you graduate. A wide variety of positions are available including:
You don’t have to have a certain major, although some positions may require technical skills that you have learned in courses. All OIT student workers need to maintain an acceptable GPA, be flexible in their scheduling, and make a minimum two-semester commitment. Workers also have to value excellent customer service, be dependable and honest, be willing to learn new skills and take initiative, and be a good team member. Work-study status is not required for technical positions but is preferred. Positions include on-the-job training, competitive hourly wages with opportunities for pay increases, and work hours that are flexible, with some offering evening and weekend hours. Some areas have additional requirements such as minimum two hour blocks of work and others require summer availability to work. A very small number of graduate assistantships are also offered each year. Postings for these positions typically requiring advanced knowledge in areas of need are handled through the School of Graduate Studies (http://www.indstate.edu/sogs/).
