Every
student loan borrower must complete a Master
Promissory Note (MPN) to receive funding.
This is the legal contract that assures the
loan will be repaid. Once completed, MPN’s
are valid for both the current and future
years.
New
borrowers at ISU need to complete this step.
Lenders usually mail your MPN to your home
address once ISU processes your loan
request.
Those
lenders listed below also offer the ability
to do the MPN electronically over the
internet. You may link from their name below
to attempt to do your online MPN.
If you experience
difficulty in completing your MPN online,
please call your lender to have them mail a
paper MPN to you.
If you
previously borrowed a Federal Stafford loan
or Federal PLUS loan and completed a
Stafford Master Promissory Note (MPN) or
Federal PLUS Master Promissory Note (MPN),
you do not need to complete another MPN for
each subsequent academic year.
