Financial aid does not transfer between schools
Although you've
moved, your aid doesn't. You qualify for aid separately at each
school. You must complete your ISU financial aid file to allow us to
calculate your eligibility for assistance here. Frank O’Bannon Grant
eligible students must also contact the State Student Assistance
Commission of Indiana to let them know you are transferring, so your
Frank O’Bannon Grant award can be sent to the right school.
Notify your former school about your
transfer
If they have
scheduled aid for you for future semesters, they may need to cancel
any remaining money in order for you to get aid here at ISU.
Transfer Scholarships are
available
Students
transferring to ISU can apply for Transfer Scholarship. The
application deadlines are March 15th for students
applying for a fall semester and December 1st for
students applying for a spring semester. Students must be admitted
to ISU before they can be reviewed for scholarship awards. All
recipients of these scholarships are required to register for at
least 12 credit hours of study on campus each term.
You can request
a scholarship application be sent to you by emailing Office of
Admissions at
admissions@indstate.edu or by calling the office at
1-800-GO-TO-ISU.
All transfer students are awarded aid
at ISU based upon freshman eligibility
This is required
by our federal Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy. It lets
you receive some aid on SAP probation to get you started in classes,
with more aid possible after your transfer work is entered into our
mainframe computer by the ISU Office of Registration and Records and
evaluated. Your academic progress is reviewed by the end of your
first semester here.
Once awarded
student financial aid, if you accept a student loan you must
complete an Entrance Interview here at ISU even if done before at
another school. This can be accomplished on-line.
