Ray Lutgring University of Evansville Department of Chemistry, Associate Professor and Chair
Chemistry B.S., 1990
Ph.D. Purdue University
After graduation from ISU I attended graduate school in the Department
of Chemistry at Purdue University. At Purdue I earned a Ph.D. degree in organic
chemistry. I then started a visiting assistant professor position at the
University of Evansville. While at the University of Evansville a tenure-track
position became available, and I was then hired into that position. I am
currently an associate professor and the chair of the Department of Chemistry at
the University of Evansville.
I enjoy teaching chemistry and working on research projects with undergraduate
students. I have taught general chemistry several times, but I have been more
involved in teaching biochemistry and organic chemistry. Currently, I teach
primarily our two-semester organic chemistry sequence.
