Dr. Cavanaugh's area of specialization is eighteenth-century
French painting.
Her research interests encompass several areas, including the
art of Jean-Baptiste Greuze, the representation of Rome by
French Academy artist, and the interrelationship of art and
women's education in the eighteenth century.
