Estimated costs for undergraduate students who are out-of-state residents are listed below Fall 2008 - Summer II 2009.
Financial aid is available to help with these costs. This aid comes in many forms, including loans, grants, scholarships, and work-study
programs. Payment plans also are available. See links (at right) for details.
These estimates are for on-campus study. Distance learners and residents of Southeastern Illinois should refer to the links (at right) for fee information.
UNDERGRADUATE OUT-OF-STATE FEES
Fall 2008- Summer II 2009
Enrolled in:
: 0.5-11.5 hours: $530.00 (per credit hour)
: 12-18 hours: $7,523.00 (per semester)
: Over 18 hours: $8,906.00 (per semester)
Other Fees
Technology fee: $63 (per semester enrolled)
The following fees will be assessed when the student is enrolled in six or more on-campus hours:
- Student recreation center fee: $100 per semester; $40 per summer session
- Transportation fee: $15 (per semester Fall/Spring)
In addition, a distance education delivery fee of $30 per undergraduate course will also be assessed to correspondence courses (section numbers 300, 620), Internet and tele-courses (section numbers 301-309) and ICN courses (section numbers 526-529). You are also charged laboratory fees, course fees, and/or applied music fees in certain classes for supplies and equipment usage, and/or special instruction/supervision. In addition, you are required to purchase text books for the respective programs.

HOUSING
The University's Office of Residential Life offers several room and board options. The following rates are for several of the more popular options. These rates
are based on a double-occupancy room and the Advantage Meal Plan.

: Cromwell Hall: $3,486.02 per semester
: Burford Hall: $3,613.52 per semester

BOOKS AND SUPPLIES
Books and supplies will vary according to the courses taken each semester and the student's major. An estimated cost of books for the academic year is $880.00.
LAPTOP (NOTEBOOK) COMPUTER
All full-time freshmen are required to have a laptop computer that meets standard specifications.
