Charles E. Brown is the current Director of the African American Cultural Center here at Indiana State University.
A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Brown earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Indiana State University. As a proud Alumnus of Indiana State University, Brown is also responsible for the formation of the African American Alumni & Friends Association representing more than 2000 African American graduates here at Indiana State University.
Charles Brown is currently the national treasurer of the Association of Black Culture Centers whose home is located at Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois. Brown is also a past member of the Indiana Commission on Community Service, an appointment made by Indiana Governor Frank O' Bannon in April 1997.
Brown along with friends, Andre Hammonds, John Spicknall, and Richard Clokely are the founding members of the ISU Friends of Jazz, which celebrates 17 years of bringing the music we enjoy to the Indiana State University campus and community.
